GWINNETT CHAPTER #2714 AARP, INC.

“To Serve, Not to be Served”

The Gwinnett Chapter #2714 of the American Association of Retired Persons, Inc. was incorporated on August 16, 1976, as a domestic nonprofit corporation in the State of Georgia.

In following the lead of AARP’s change to its acronym, on April 10, 2002 there was a chapter name change granted by the Georgia Office of the Secretary of State Corporations Division to the current name, “Gwinnett Chapter #2714 AARP, Inc.”

Although there was a name change, our commitment “to serve, not to be served,” continues. Under the articles of incorporation we were granted a perpetual duration under Chapter 22-21 of the Georgia Nonprofit Corporation Code enacted in 1968 and as amended. Our objectives & purposes are to be promoted and carried on by our corporation.

We strive to offer individual members opportunities to come together monthly to learn, share and experience information and knowledge pertinent to the times.  We aid retired persons in their social, physical, economic and intellectual needs by acting as a local chapter of the AARP, a District of Columbia Nonprofit Corporation, in accordance with and in furtherance of its purposes, objectives and ideals. All persons who are members in good standing of AARP are eligible to become individual members of Gwinnett Chapter #2714.

The Gwinnett Chapter #2714 AARP. Inc. meets monthly, the 4th Thursday of each month at the Bethesda Park Senior Center, 225 Bethesda Church Rd., Lawrenceville, GA 30044, unless otherwise noted.
